UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson and Chancellor Rishi Sunak have been issued fines by Londonβs Metropolitan Police for attending a party held in Downing Street during a Covid lockdown.
The fine means Boris Johnson has become the UK's first serving prime minister to be sanctioned for breaking the law.
Both politicians have apologised but say they will not resign despite calls from opposition MPs for them to step down.
